Ashley R. Shields, O.D.

Dr. Shields, formerly Ashley Lynn, is a 2001 graduate of West Muskingum High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from The Ohio State University. She then attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2012.

Dr. Shields is qualified to treat many ocular and visual conditions, including advanced diseases, contact lenses, pediatrics, and primary eye care. She joined Sunrise Vision Clinic in August 2012 and is now accepting new patients.

Dr. Shields currently resides in Muskingum County. She and her husband have a young son named Braxton and a baby named Bexley. They enjoy spending time with their family and friends.

Kelly A. Ryen, O.D.

Dr. Kelly Ryen graduated as valedictorian of Pickerington High School in 1996. She attended Kent State University as an undergrad and majored in Biology.  Her Optometry education was received at The Ohio State College of Optometry where she graduated Cum Laude in 2003.

Dr. Ryen joined Sunrise Vision Clinic in February of 2015.  She became part owner of the new Zanesville Vision Care in January 2016.  She enjoys treating patients of all ages.  Dr. Ryen is currently accepting new patients. 

Dr. Ryen resides in Licking County. She and her husband have 2 daughters.  She enjoys reading, exercise and spending time with family and friends.

Sarah R. Scalley, O.D.

Dr. Scalley grew up in Toronto, Ohio, which is a small town on the Ohio River. She graduated from Toronto High School in 2002 as Valedictorian of her class. She went on to attend Otterbein College, a small liberal arts school in Westerville, Ohio, which is just outside of Columbus. She graduated from Otterbein cum laude and with honors in 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Life Science. She then went on to study optometry at The Ohio State University and received her Doctor of Optometry Degree in June 2011. Dr. Scalley joined Sunrise Vision Clinic in July 2011.

At Otterbein, Dr. Scalley was an active member of Theta Nu sorority, Alpha Epsilon Delta honorary, Alpha Lambda Delta honorary and Mortar Board Senior Honor Society. While at Ohio State, she was an active member of the Epsilon Psi Epsilon fraternity and enjoyed attending the Ohio State basketball and football games.

Dr. Scalley is currently welcoming patients of all ages. She treats a wide variety of ocular conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye, amblyopia, and keratoconus. She enjoys fitting patients into different types of contact lenses, including those for astigmatism and multifocal lenses.

Dr. Scalley moved to Zanesville in July of 2012 after living in the Columbus area for nine years. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, knitting, crocheting, baking, and playing with her four dogs.
